    TW Land Speed Record

On my way home from Moab hauling sick TW about 11:30 at night on western edge of Dougway Bombing Range my GPS suddenly went a little nuts displaying the following speed.
Now 283 mph seemed a little fast even for the Loneliest Highway in middle of nowhere, no other lights or man made stuff for a good ten miles in any direction on the ground. No telling what was in the sky overhead. Lots of military stuff happens away from the public eye out here.
So I wondered was the 283 mph just a fluke in my GPS device or was something spoofing the time signals from the overhead satellite array. Dark Star, Aurora or some fiendly D.O.D experiment? North Korea or Vlad the Invader testing disruption of our defenses? Alien Overlords? Weak batteries? It remains an curiosity. Anyone else ever had GPS anomalies?

Thanks Borneo, the multipath error explains it well but I kinda liked the Alien Overlord theory.

I've had similar errors before but not quite that extreme.

I'd say claim that top speed for the TW and accept challengers.. for pink slips.

Had one trip where the GPS swore I was cruising the Caribbean Islands.

Well if a copper pulled you over saying you were speeding, you could not for sure that the speed he was quoting was wrong.

Fred, i think you found a worm hole in the desert and disrupted the space-time continuum in some way, if only for a brief period in time. The good news is, you didn't age at all in those minutes!
