Unfortunately we will be reading of a fatality with these folks. Flying like that is an adrenalin rush, it is also a death waiting to happen. A puff of wind pushing you into a rock or downdraft into the trees and such can happen at anytime. When flying in terrain or hills the breeze coming over a hill can push you down at a speed you can't recover. Also works the other way, wind coming toward the hill can lift you at great speeds. I have used this when flying to get lift by flying on the windward side of hills.
A pair of these paragliders motored over North Camp one day at sundown. In the video I kept waiting for someone to kiss the canyon wall but those guys survived the day in style. Of course tomorrow's flight might end differently.
I am in awe of the sheer physical ability of trial riders! Amazing!
