Does the sound of a well tuned engine running full bore get your eyes misting? I was over a Sebring racetrack watching the teams get ready for the 12 hour race. The sound of earth shaking V-8's and V-10's howling their guts out on the front straight made me choke up big time. My wife thinks I'm nuts to get worked up over such a thing but am I alone on this?

If you can't find it, grind it
Heck, I get excited when I can floor my Crown Vic or my Dodge Ram. I love a good American V8!

Try an Allison, Packard, Rolls, or Liberty V12 or a Wasp radial.
Years ago, there used to be a formula one auto race in downtown Phoenix. I lived two miles away, but I can still recall the incredible sound from those engines. I've never heard anything quite like it.
Qwerty: That's another reason I like to go to Sun N Fun. Too hear all those wonderfull engines up close is fantastic to a motor geek like me.
I have fond memories of roadracing motorcycles. 4-stroke parallel, horozontal, and V-twins, triples, fours running straight pipes and open headers were sweet, but the piercing screams of unsilenced expansion chambers on the 2-strokes still haunt me in the wee hours.
There is nothing sweeter than a two stroke on the pipe.

I have been lucky enough to hear a Rolls Royce Merlin on a low ,slow flypast. 27 litres of super charged V-12, an absolutely glorious sound that will stay with me forever.
I've seen and heard Lee Lauderback in his TF-51D Crazy Horse putting on a show. You think a Merlin sounds good going low and slow? Wait until you here one at high power! If you have a single male gene in your body it will make your hair stand on end!!
