I've always liked Tacoma's and 4Runners a lot. I didn't see anything in the video that I couldn't do in one of my old Cherokees. That being said, I still really like the truck, and would buy one. I mean the old Cherokees are relics these days - a thing of the past, sadly; they were among the greatest 4x4's ever made. The crawl control is kind of cool I guess but I'm not sure it would help an experienced four wheeler. Although, I suppose no amount of experience would enable a driver to simultaneously modulate throttle and braking to all four wheels at different levels. So who knows. I'd like to learn a little more about the new v6. IIRC it is a 3.7 or something? Guess I should go have a gander...

Oh, by the way, aren't you planning on buying a 2016 4Runner?

I love my 2011 Tacoma 4X4 but only have just a bit over 30K miles on it. Sadly, I bought the Access cab model and really wish I had gone with the double cab. What I gained in bed length with the half rear doors was the reason but I lost the ability to slide the rear windows down as they are fixed in the Access cab. My dog hates me for it.

I have been seriously contemplating making a deal on a new one but the way I baby my equipment and accessorize it after I buy it is holding me back. Dealers have no regard for those of us who take care of our vehicles and will not give a dime more on a trade for stuff like the OEM running boards or the nice Jeraco color matching cap I put on. They just look at a nice clean, low mile truck and say here is your trade in value and piss me right off.

I happy I have my 2015. I wanted the tried and true 4.0l. I just hope Toyota fixed the issues with there manual trans clutches (huge weakness, my 2012 4cyl started sliping at 24,000kms and I have many many miles in stick shift under my belt including a VW that had 390,000kms on a original clutch and ran fine.

And since I needed a crew cab I trade that in for my current 4.0 truck with the auto (less efficacy lot less fun but way way stronger/reliable)

Also by getting a 2015 I was able to swap over some of the goodies I had off my 2012.

I have a family member that works for Toyota and I was considering the new Tacoma for my next vehicle. The problem is, without fixing the headroom or low seating position, the truck is just not comfortable for trips more than a couple of hours. Looks like another F150 for me, but next time I am trying the 2.7l Eco boost (I love my current 5.0l and get about 17mpg combined mileage now) to see if it can be more economical.

I think it's overpriced, and if you need those off-road abilities, buy a Jeep. But I'm also not a fan of Toyota, since they build my top three most hated vehicles in the world (the Camry, the Prius, and the Lexus RX, in that order). BUT, of all the Toyotas made, the Tacoma IS my favorite... but one a couple of generations back would be my choice.

I just think that when spending that much money on a truck, it should be the most capable truck possible. Mat mentioned the F-150 EcoBoost. While I'm no Ford fan either, I did have an F-150 with the 3.5L EcoBoost as a rental earlier this year and was very impressed with it. In fact, I brought home my new-to-me TW200 in the back of it.

So there's my rant, which really means nothing when you stop and think about it.

OK kj I am STILL patiently waiting for your official review of that new XT 250. Inquiring minds want to know.

Lol my bad. Been SO damn busy with all the other stupid stuff in life. I did make an initial post a few weeks ago when I first bought it. It ought to still be there if anyone cares to look back a couple pages in Other Bikes lol...

I've been putting all of my free time into engine break in (and maintenance), modding, etc. But I've had to wait on a couple things, so that's set me back. Also I have no free time Right now waiting on a top clamp from HDB, since they initially sent me the wrong one. Then once it's built and ready to go, I still have to find time to get out and do some proper enduro riding with it, after which point I'll be able to provide a nice review in Other Bikes. I'd kill to be able to just do that stuff and forget everything else for a couple weeks, but such is life. Right now I estimate two to three weeks more before I'm able to get it all done and post the in-depth review. Stay tuned ;D
