    My latest firearms purchase

"Mass compliant" M&P 45 full size. I picked it up tonight an put in an Apex duty carry trigger kit to bring the trigger pull down to a more reasonable 5.5lbs . Headed off to the range to go run some rounds thru it.

    Beautiful pistol.

Mass compliant... Does that mean it has a 10lb trigger?

Nice one! My latest ( 2 weeks ago) was a LCP 380 stainless. Makes my LC9 and LCR9 look big and 659 S&W huge

Nice gun but would only be concealable for me in the winter. I carry much, much smaller throughout the year. Of course on the flip side during deer season I carry much, much larger

Just got back from the range. So far i like it, its shoots like a nail driver. pretty accurate too, i can get a pretty tight group at 20' or so.

My range has an armory for loan and has some non mass compliant guns. Got to shoot the new glock 43 tonight. Im not impressed, is does not shoot near as well as my shield 9mm.

Yes mass compliant means it has to be sold with a 10lb trigger. That does not mean you have to keep it that way, hence the apex trigger kit i installed, that brings it back down to 5.5 with a better break and shorter over-travel and reset.

Yes, def big for concealed carry unless you are wearing a lot of clothes. My main carry gun in a S&W shield in 9mm. It's a great carry gun. Here it is side by side with the .45

Nice looking pistol there jb. How hard/easy is it to get a concealed carry permit there in Massa-toochetes?

I carry a full sized 1911 under the arm pit for eight months out of the year (Colt Delta Elite, 10mm Auto). An unbuttoned flannel shirt or sports coat covers well using a Galco Miami Classic.

For residents it really depends on the town( and its politics) and the police chief( or whomever he has appointed and his own personal politics) who is the licensing authority in their respective town. some towns are easy, some really hard. some make you literally write an essay explaining why you feel you should have a gun, others don't. Some town make you get references. some towns just flat out deny you no matter what and then you have to drag them to court to get it( happened to my brother in law, the town he moved to denied his renewal and he had to drag them to court) and if you are not otherwise disqualified by felony or documented mental illness they always rule in your favor, the town is just playing the odds that you wont fight it. The chief can also place restrictions on your permit like only allowed to carry from home to range etc and that restriction is in place all over the state. Its a completely arbitrary system and totally bogus.

My town is very easy. The chief is a 2nd amendment guy and my town is pretty much shall issue so long as you pass the background check. No hoops to jump thru. The selectmen in my town want to limit permits but the chief refuses to cave to their wishes.

Not sure on non residents but id bet its easier as its handled by the state police and im sure in a more consistent manner.
