    Janis Joplins' ghost

Close your eyes when you listen to this and see if Pearls' ghost doesn't appear.

Saw Janis in concert live @ College of Marin '66 or '67. A couple years later I met her on Haight St. sitting on hood of her psychedelic painted Porsche convertable. Life for her was too short.

That was worth my time.. Don't hit me but I was never a "BIG" fan of Jan.. But I think she had a sharper tone to her voice than Melanie does...OMM.

True, Janis sounded better but not by much. Melanie is about as close as I have heard. Now if only she had Big Brother and the holding company to play behind her.

Melanie just hasn't drank enough Southern Comfort yet. Janis had that slightly raspy, gravely whiskey voice.

Yup! When Janis sang it she poured her heart out in it! I actually got the feeling that it hurt her to do that song because she dug so deep to get it out. I have such mixed feelings about Janis and the culture of drinking and drugs she was deep into. Gone way too soon but we would never have had or heard her if not for that culture. Freddy Mercury is another of the greats gone far too soon along with Jimmy Hendrix and many others. Once again, we are aging ourselves!

Be Decisive! Right or Wrong just make a decision. The road of life is paved with flat squirrels that couldn't make a decision.

Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.
