    Question Canadian internet censorship

In another thread a question was raised about a particular firearm on this forum because the Canadian network filtered out any gun related web sites.

Not wanting to highjack the thread I’m asking our Canadian friends if this is a particular network (corporate or private) or a Canadian ‘public network(s)’.

Hey Beeline....I am not aware of any such censorship...If you indicate the firearm you are referring to I will search it and see what is there or not. I believe I can watch gun related videos on youtube endlessly or search any info I am interested in. We do have restrictions on ownership of automatic weapons and hand guns.

Works servers are good for businesses as you can have issues without fire walls and such.

I'd avoid searching for things that are not considered "work related" while at work and do all the other stuff at home.

Try using Mozilla or Firefox or a search engine that helps you protect your privacy.

I do a lot of research and I don't want anyone to follow my searches even though they are quite benign. I'll bet many 13 year old boys
have searched and found more bad stuff in a summer than I have in my lifetime. LOL

Thanks for the answers. Before I retired I worked for British Telcom (they bought out our company) and they were very strict about using the internet for gun related sites. The UK national networks didn't filter gun sites (or porn ) but corporate sites did and would report any infraction to their network security teams.
