    What a PITA

Finally happened, someone stole my identity. Got 2 medical bills in the mail yesterday. Seems he's using my name DOB and SS#. Been all day dealing with this crap. Someone in Vancouver Wa. One biller says no problem after a few questions. They hava PO box for him in Vancouver. Different wife's name. But the other one will not back down because of the SS and DOB match. Well the my local sheriff says different and will make a call to Vancouver Sheriff and send the report to the 2nd biller. Checked all my credit and all is good so far. Had to put a lock on my SS#. And fill out a form at ID theft.gov

That sucks, monitor your credit daily for the next year at least. Get a service that emails you.

Well that just blows. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I wish I had some magic advice to give but unfortunately your best course of action is simply monitor your credit report daily as already recommended. Good luck.

I use Life Lock. They have caught things for me twice. Great service.

This is probably very good advice.

I hate thieves. Nothing lower in my book. I would rather have my name in the paper for murder than being a thief. There are good reasons for killing someone.

...like when you catch them stealing from you....
