01' ttr125 with no front brakes (except rotor), dead battery, torn seat and most importantly, will not start, probably due to low compression.

PSC, these bad boys are notorious for needing top end rebuilds. The other stuff sounds pretty easy to manage.

Weisco makes a kit (piston and rings) for about $150. You will also need to check the cylinder to see if it is scratched or scored. May need a maintenance overbore, should run you about $50.

Keep in mind that the 125 needs an oil change about every 10 hours. It has a weird centrifugal "oil filter" on the end of the crank under the primary drive gear. It fills up with gunk eventually. It can be replaced, but it is not easy and requires diving into the bottom end.

There are some members here who know way more about the 125s than me, so stay tuned.

Boooooo! He sold it out from under me. Why tell someone that you would hold it if your not going to. I understand selling it to first person with cash in hand, just don't tell me your gonna hold it for me then!

So here we go. Something better did come along 2005 ttr125let electric and kickstart, renthal bars and good plastics and seat. Also has good compression and very clean carburetor.

Needs new tires and brakes but engine is good running well. It does smoke a little but I will clean the exhaust and see how it is then. Even if it does need a rebuild it will be good for another year til it gets it. Cant wait to ride some trails with my girlfriend beside me instead of screaming in my ear! Lol

I have ordered new tires and tubes, spark plugs, fork seals and oil, front and rear brake pads and a gasket kit so I can check out the top end and replace valve seals. I also need to open up the electric starter and see why it is not engaging. I hear it spinning but it doesnt catch a gear? Thing should be top notch after I get these things done and installed. Exhaust will be sanded and repainted along with the pegs and kickstand. Cost me more than I expected but it will be worth it if and when I am finished. It is always nice to do things by yourself so you know everything was done right!

Is the black plastic gizmo behing the kick lever part of the airbox?

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Powdercoated '87 frame, extended swingarm, YZ fork legs, ATV tire, 14/55, XT350 tank, spliced quick-release seat, disc brake conversion, beeg headlight, beeger rack, Lizrdcooler, Lizrdventz and bunch of other stuff all covered in invisible ink.
