    Today's Adventure

My '06 Jeep Liberty was in need of some repair. been hearing a slight clunk when turning and hitting a small dip or hole at the same time. Did a little pulling and pushing on the wheel when lifted and could see a fair amount of play in the passenger side upper control arm. Not really what I want to be doing on a Saturday but can't stand the thought of having to pay someone else to do what I can do. Also changed front brakes and rotors, rear brakes and rotors, rear calipers. Still needs an oil and filter change, maybe tomorrow. Monday, it's new tires and alignment. Should be good for another couple years...I hope!

Very productive day. I spent ALL day cleaning my garage and I swear I am only 1/3 of the way through it! Made good enough progress that I no longer need the weather to be nice to clean in there

I too just finished a job I have been putting off for several months. I have an aunt that is a hoarder, big time. Her place was getting so overgrown that the city called me to try to do something about it. I took about fifteen truck loads, dumptruck loads of brush, trees and such to my place as there was nowhere else to take it. It has rained all winter, wettest winter here on record. Finally had a few days of off and on rain so I lit it off. Had to wait until the wind was right as I have a nursing home next door. didn't want to send a copd patient to an early passing. Finished it off today. Will bury the small ash pile when I can dg without hitting ground water, things are totally soaked here. Just so glad to have that off my list. Now to unload the house, oh my God. That will have to be hauled to the dump for an unknown cost.

I took a load to the dump last week $5 per 100 lbs. $53 plus two trips through the tunnel at $8 each way.

Aren't we supposed to be riding on the weekends? Life and responsibilities keep getting in the way. I really can't complain though, I've got a great wife that supports her quirky husband in his motorcycle endeavors! I wouldn't want to be anyone else.

I feel for you Plumb! I had just such an Aunt who passed a few years back. She claimed herself an Antique Collector. In the end she had 2 large rental storage units chock full of "Antiques" no one wanted. Her home was a living death trap that not even the clean out specialists would place a bid on to buy any of the treasures they might find hidden among all those damn Antiques. Sadly, I am sure there were a few very valuable items within the loads of junk we carted off to the land fill. Seems to me the items that have value to us for what ever the reason might be just useless junk to others. My own mission for this summer is to let a lot of my own treasures go to the landfill or anyone who is willing to cart them away. Like Dryden, my garage is a disaster area but loaded with good stuff----------IMO and it is very hard to just let it go. What good is a 2 car garage that has no room for one car and just enough room to do some minor clean up on a TW? I have to move 6 things just to get to the thing I need to use and make room to use it. My neighbor who is now 94 has a 50 X 100 barn that is over loaded with his treasures dating back to the early 1940s when he first built the barn. So many projects that he will never get to and the parts and tools to fix just about anything if only he could remember where they are. My wife says I need a very small cabin to live in and a very, very large barn to store all my shit-----------AND --------------ALL her Shoes!

Adventure--- definition--- When you are doing something that scares the hell out of you and you really really don't want to be doing it, but you will brag about it later,
    That, is an adventure.

Sounds more like "Hold my beer and watch this". I don't do that any more because I wake up every morning remembering most of my failed Adventures! I was never one to hold anyone's beer but I sure did watch a bunch of Adventures and these days I just look away because I don't care to see any one else's blood.

You all can go on your adventures and post them up here while I venture from the dinner table to the couch with a cocktail.
