Buy a trailer and something to pull it with and hit the road. Follow the wandering star. Like plumb layed out so well above. Right on Plumb!
I am in the same boat. been in the northwest for 25 years. Beautiful place, sounds crass, but been there and done that, and want to dry out and see more of the west.
Also in the market for another kayak. But a folder this time. Easier to pack along.

Just too many to quote up there.

Thought about small 4x4, Jeep Cherokee XJ, and some small camper to pull, actually had just rather sleep in the back of, it. That is what i did with the Scouts and Broncos I have had, Jeep CJ5 not so much.
Just haven't found the XJ that I am looking for. Prices range from 4k up to 23k.

Kayaking, long time ago i had looked at folding, but just didn't fit where i was paddling.
Mine was enclosed 16ft 4in, 25in beam, carried almost two months of supplies. Wasn't worried about anything, even when getting blown offshore try to make it Horn Island.
That was some bad weather that blew in.

Should have had it re-glassed and kept it. Don't think anymore are made of that style by any manufacture.

Lake Maurepas to Pensacola Bay, then back to Biloxi to haul out.
    That was some trip there.

Galveston to Vermillion bay, then turned around and paddled to Port O'Conner.

Sabine River - from Longview to Toledo Bend.
That's where i woke up one night hearing the pitter-patter of little feet.
Thinking it was raccoon, I shook the tent. It was a skunk. Caught tent at right the entrance. Talk about not being able breath, oh sheesh, unable to explain what that was like.
Could barely stay in it the following nights of that trip.
Tent smelled like skunk for 8 years after that. Finally threw it away. Sure did like that tent.

I got a lot stories about those trips.
The time the alligator would not let me back in my kayak.
The feral hog i thought was going to run over my tent.
The herd of javelina that woke me up in the middle of the night.
    few more.

I really would like to paddle from Brownsville around Fl and then up north to somewhere.
Anyone up to that trip ?

bikes and kayaking at this time is what keeps me going and not feeling like the subject here.
This probably all boils down to my DR being broke and not getting to ride to ......
What i am seeing is the TW not going fit the way i travel. That has me upset.

Been thinking of selling it buying a newer DR and mod it to match the one that Procycle used to have on their web site some 2 or 3 years ago.

If a bike is plated, it's suppose to be ridden, not hauled on a trailer.

I feel your pain. We seem to use the TW more for "campsite" transportation. It is great as a shuttle ride (we leave the TW chained to a tree at the top of a river float and float downstream to the truck). It can sit there for a week and nobody ever messes with it. They probably do not know what it is.

I digress. I realized I like having motorcycles around and working them. It is as much fun now as riding them once was. Some times I just sit and look at the TW and/or the Hodaka I am working on (10+ years now. I don't work fast but I do charge a lot). We just found a non-running '94 DR350e. Almost free. Bad gas, cleaned carb and tank, re-wired, new tires, and it goes like hell. I know: It is only worth $1,200.00 or so but the fun of hearing it cough and come to life is special, I think.

    I just turned 69.

Oh, I almost forgot. You can bring the TW up here to Montana and leave it with me. You can come and get it back whenever you want.

Like many of the others I agree that it sounds like you've got the blues a bit. I'd say take your time making decisions and see how you feel in a few months or so. Can't hurt to talk to your doctor if you can't seem to find the motivation to do anything, that's a big indicator of depression for me. Follow your muse and may it bring you joy!

I'ld say a trip to Montana should cure anyone's blues!
Toss in a guided float trip and he'ld be as hooked as all those trout you'ld be pulling in.

Just a short update... Sold the DR and TW. Bought a Ford Explorer XLT.
Now i am into storm chasing. No flashy lights or such.

Was headed up to Montana/Wyoming area last week and instead detoured to West Virginia, so didn't make it up there.
    Wish i had now.

I still think about buy some bike, maybe a XR250 (something like that).
