    Are Jet Skis Boring?

Guess it depends on where you ride them. On oceans and flat water lakes I got bored after about 5 minutes. Have watched whitewater rapid play on older stand-up jet ski, that provided a suitable adrenaline/risk ratio.

I saw a bunch up near Lake Shasta etc this past week looks like fun but I think I would want a place to go camp on remote shoreline etc. Buddies in Havasu ride up the Colorado river in large groups and party on remote pristine beaches and eat gamble and drink at the Casinos on the river which seems like it would be fun

We have big and small lakes and reservoirs here and lots of PWCs running all over them. I have been on them from the older stand up versions to the super go fast 2 and 3 seat models. Other than going ridiculously fast on a mirror smooth lake they are rather boring to me. When the same lake gets churned up from lots of big boat traffic and wakes they do get a bit more exciting however at 66 my get up and go got up and went and my bones just don't have the hankering for the pounding any more. Basically a youth oriented toy and bring lots of money for the high fuel consumption some of these monsters require. A motorcycle with the same engine running at exactly the same RPMs will get you 10 times as far on a tank of fuel simply because of the propulsion method and the drag ratio.

Kind of like riding a TW. Pretty boring going straight down the road but can get very exiting if you use your imagination.

At least the newer models are quieter. Sound really travels over water and a single enthusiastic jet skier can annoy a lot of people in an otherwise tranquil setting. Sort of like a loud motorcycle I guess. I never heard my obnoxious loud two-stroke motor when riding them.
