    Old Honda NX250 Dominator

I didn't know this bike even existed. This came up in my local Craig's list:
Honda nx250 nx 250 dualsport enduro

Apparently Honda made these for a few years around 1988-1993. It looks like an old school 250 Adventure bike!

I wonder what the seller "has his eye on?" I bet it is the 2016 Honda CRF250 Rally Concept...

Anyone have experience with this little rear drum brake 26hp Adventure bike from the past?

Big D had one for a while. We once did 400 miles in 2 days, he on his NX and I on my TW. Numerous stops, all back roads, during a heat wave, gawd it was fun! Here is one of those stops.

Long live the internal combustion engine!

A guy showed up to my TW ride with one he just bought this spring. Nice little bike. He poked around with us in the woods all day.

After reading that "Throwback Tuesday" article it appears the NX250 is the closest thing to the TW250 we all want (ed). 32" seat hieght with 19" front and 16" rear wheels. Seat looks comfy too. Slap some PHAT bitely tires on there and call it good. Can you imagine 26HP in your TW?!

Yes I had an NX250 for some time like elime mentioned. I put a bunch of miles on it and it was very dependable and comfortable. For more info see 1988 Honda NX 250 specifications and pictures The white bike you see in those pictures was mine.

These are great little bikes. They were ahead of their time when the market wasn't accepting. I got over 85 MPG on this bike and it could easily maintain 70+ MPH speeds. It actually is pretty peppy with 24 HP.

elime has always ridden faster/better than me in twisty paved roads on similar bikes, But when he would be on the TW and I on the NX, with the additional power of the NX, (like on the road to My Hamiliton Observatory) I would make him work hard chasing me! It was sort of payback!

It's was claimed to be a "dual sport" but that was it's biggest limitation. At best you only wanted to travel on smooth/graded dirt roads. This will not serve as an off road bike. Look at the plastic that can easily break in a fall.

I did have one notable fall/crash involving a small herd of stampeding cows. Ok so there were only 3 cows, but one decided to run quickly across the road directly in my path! I call it a stampede. The bike did fare well considering all, and I was able to ride it back to my cabin another 20 miles.

I would recommend this bike to anyone who wants a zippy little road bike for twisty pavement. I would not recommend using this bike much off road. The TW will clean its clock off road. But the TW can't hold a candle to the NX on pavement. Remember the NX is a water cooled bike and requires more service than the air cooled TW. And the NX is blessed with 6 speeds for more versatile pavement use.

Here is one more picture of a TW-NX ride elime and I took. Guess which 2 bike don't look like the others!
