    Honda CRF150F

Working on a new project. All the guys I ride with constantly harass me about trying a real motocross bike with more suspension and skinny tires. Found a great deal on a barely used 2006 CRF150F. Had sat in a friends garage for years. Those years took a toll and after a lot of bad fuel issues have been fixed, the bike is nearly ready. Still looking for a stock arrestor assembly to put back in the muffler. Gonna have to replace tubes and tires before I can really trust it. Should I go Shinko 241 on both front and rears if I can size them right? Or should I put a knobbier Shinko on the back?

Nice little bike! Hondas are bulletproof. After watching the review below, I'm surprised to learn they're simpler to maintain than the TWs! No oil filter? Cool!

Hope you have a blast on your new toy!

Replacing the made in Brazil Pirellis with some new DOT rubber in anticipation of possible dual-sporting of this bike. The little crf150f has funny sized tires. 19" front and 16" rear. 70/100 19 and 90/100 16 to be exact. So my issue is that there is not a ton of choices in those sizes for DOT approved tires. If I go with Shinko 241, then I have to go with a skinnier rear tire as It would mean running two fronts I believe. So it would be appropriate front 2.75 inch wide and a half inch narrower rear at 3 inch. Stock rear is 3.5 inch wide. Otherwise there are a pretty fair looking set of Kenda trackmasters that are like 90% dirt 10% street and are DOT. They are exact oem size matches. Was perhaps interested in getting as large of tires in there as possible but the bike doesn't seem to have a lot of extra room in there for larger tires. Darn

The key to the trials tires off road is low tire pressure (8 psi or less), so make sure you have a rim lock on the rear.
Air up when you hit the pavement.

Added Pro Taper SE ATV mid bars to the 150. Oem steel bars were bent (surprise.) Fit well and improved the ergonomics. Just enough length on all the cables and wires. Rocky Mountain ATV said they could not get me any Tusk D-flex until mid June and so I ordered crappy cycra knock-offs from ebay (GOOFIT.) Had to cut and bend to make them fit right. Definitely not as high quality as the Tusk. Handguard seems pretty stout, the mounts look much weaker. Had to add some washers to keep the screws from pulling through the plastics as they tightened up.
