Rode the new Enfield last week

Took a demo ride on the new Royal Enfield Bullet. Talk about nostalgia - took me back fifty years. Very solid bike, now with fuel injection and hydraulic lifters, and electric starting. The ride is superb with the long stroke 500cc engine and wonderful traction going thump-thump-thump. Not a speedster, just a comfortable fun ride. Never owned an Enfield, but had several Matchless's - Velocette's - and BSA singles -- Those of you who have never experienced the fun of an old British single should try one. Scotsman

I was really impressed with the new RE 650's at the NY motorcycle show last month. Fit/finish and of course the styling. Now with the extra power indicates they are really moving forward.

Is the 500 Bullet available in the U.S.? If so, where? I have always loved the old thumpers. As a kid, my dream bike was the BSA 441. Closest I ever got was an XT 500 and I wish I still had that bike.

I've had and loved a Triumph 200cc Cub, BSA 1943 M-20 sidevalve 500cc warbike, , a Yamaha 360 Enduro, a Harley 165, a '49 Norton ES2 500, a Mustang 375 single (OK, an American not a Brit, but same torquey fun!) a Rickman 250 Montessa MX, a Bultaco Astro factory 360cc flat track racer, a MZ 660cc Black Panther Super Moto (Hoochie Mama!) , an AJS 250 MX, a Penton 175 woods racer, a KLR 650, a couple Jap 2-stroke tiddlers and now the Mighty T-Dub!
Once you've experienced singles, especially big ones, especially racing or hi-po ones, you never get over it!
