    Sproket Diff.

Altho I have already ordered up a rear sprocket with 47 teeth, I had noticed someone talking about replacing the front with a sprocket with more teeth. Is there a reason/difference for choosing the front over the rear? Just academics now but curious.

Generally from a stock setup, one tooth larger on the front = approx three teeth smaller on the back and visa-versa. On most bikes; for the change you are making, it is easier (quicker and much less work) to replace the front sprocket, and no change to the chain length would be necessary. TW is different. You must remove a side cover and possibly have to replace a gasket, and drain the oil first (can be done without oil change but bike must be laid over to not spill oil, and debris is more like to get into engine oil). Also wiring on the cover could be pinched or damaged during the process. So for your purpose, unless the front sprocket is bad, the way you are doing it is best. (IMO) -j-
