Adding Lights To The HF Motorcycle Rack

I originally bought the HF Magnetic Towing Light Kit. I found to be cumbersome to use every time I hauled my TW. I started searching for a solution that met my needs and allowed me to utilize all the adjustments available on the rack. I wanted LED lights that would be heavy duty, waterproof and small enough that they didn't protrude above or below the width of the rack. I searched all the available options and none of the Stop/Turn Tail Lights allowed this. One of my favorite trailer parts stores is EasternMarine.com located in Delaware. While on a trip North one day last year I stopped in to see if they offered lights that would fit my application. I bought four single, two wire "hot/ground" LED lights and they are perfect. I build a Mock-up to ensure the proper operation of the lights I finished the installation and I'm completely satisfied with how well it turned out. If anyone is interested in duplicating this I can provide more tips and measurement details.
    Parts Needed:
    B-Optronics Light MCL13 p/n 1294101
    # 6 X 5/8 Pan Head Phillips sheet metal screws needed for mounting the lights
    # 6 X 1/2 Self Drilling Screws for the Cable Clamps Heat Shrink, Solder, Trailer Wire, 4 Flat Connector, 1/4 and 3/8 Cable Clamps.

Very professional looking build Top. What was your total out of pocket cost on this project?

It won't be greed which destroys America. It will be envy.

Man who runs in front of motorcycle gets tired. Man who runs behind motorcycle gets exhausted.

Looks good Rick. As soon as my bike is done in the next day or 2, I will be doing mine. My wife bought me a cheap set from Walmart for Christmas since that's what I wanted being on a very tight budget. Later this week I should finally get around to do it. I'd like to have it done in time for the 2 day PA ride coming up on the 28th and 29th. Something is better than nothing.

Nice to see you're concerned with safety. I shudder at some of the nightmares Is on the road.

Tdub has a trailer plug under her box that was originally used for a trailer she pulled, but a jumper from the trailer lights activate all her clearance, stop, and tail lights in odd ways that serve as real attention getters when she is on the trailer.

Lights X4. $5.86 each Eastern Marine
    Screws. $4.00. Home Depot.
    Cable Clamps $3.60. Home Depot
    Wire. $ 15. Walmart. Used 1/3
    4 flat connector. $3.50. Walmart
    Heat Shrink ? Stock
    Self Start screws ? Stock
I also had the spirit cable wrap in stock that I used to wrap the lead wires to the 4 flat connector. It's a hard plastic spiral wrap that I bought years ago. Goes for about $10 for 33 ft Amazon. I also used this wrap when I installed my 12v outlet on my TW
