    Hi All,

First post, love the customized TW's. I just moved to San Diego for a 3-6 month stint to spend some time with the fam and to hit up the surf. I'm about 2 miles from the beach and was considering a Honda Ruckus as my main transportation to get me to the surf with my board. However, I came across this sweet bike on youtube that was modified nicely and has a surf rack mount.

Long story short, I want to simulate this bike or build something like it!

The question is, how? Where can I get these parts?

If anyone can point me in the right direction or if you can point me to the right shop, let me know!

    Thanks,

    Josh

There are tons of threads on "Hollow mods". Start digging.

The board racks are a piece of cake.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Powdercoated '87 frame, extended swingarm, YZ fork legs, ATV tire, 14/55, XT350 tank, spliced quick-release seat, disc brake conversion, beeg headlight, beeger rack, Lizrdcooler, Lizrdventz and bunch of other stuff all covered in invisible ink.

Board racks are easily made of metal electrical conduit and covered with pipe insulation.

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for posting the link... cool mods

I'd like to do a mod to carry a bicycle on mine... my bicycles are "BikeFriday"(s) so they fold up. I already have that worked out on my Versys. It fits across my rear rack & metal panniers. But my TW seat & rear rack are not long & wide enough. So a hollow conduit pipe rig like the surf board rack may be the way I need to go. Not sure if 30 lbs on an out rigger rack will be stable on a TW though?

I carried a full sized mountain bike a couple of times on a rack made from an old folding car rack.... a few pipe clamps and my cyclerack rear rack did the job....

This is what brought me here. The Tdub would be perfect for the kayak hauler.

In high school, one of my friends strapped a tail wheel onto his board and towed it with his bicycle. Of course, that was 1964. Here is one with two wheels that looks better and might work with a TW. When not towing, no ugly rack to remove or stick out.

One of my V-Max friends towed a 13-foot trailer 32 inches wide that he used to carry wind surfing gear and his mountain bike.

More than one way to skin a feline.

Great for towing with a bicycle at low speeds. But probably NOT LEGAL to do with a motorcycle.
