Well, thanks to the experience of many before me, I am just about done with the mods to my 2006. A little background. Purchased last year from 1st owner with 131 miles and crashed about six times in the sand/dirt by his wife who no longer would ride it. Damage cosemetic and mostly limited to the plastics and mufffler. Still less than new with all the mods!

    My mods:

    2010 base gasket upgrade

    DID o-ring chain

    130 main jet with 5 .010 shims

white plastics--thought I would try something other than the OEM black

ttr 225 stainless header-have the heat shield but need to order another wave washer to install

    DG oval series exhaust

Hyper-pro pregressive front springs, shrader valves on the fork caps, ATF fluid

35 watt hid headlight with servo hi/lo beam--on/off switch

two 22 watt led auxillary lights--wired on/off with variable dimmer (ADV Monster brand lights model 44)

carbon look micro turn signals--front running lights no longer in use

    Led master brake/tail light

BMW high intensity led modulating tail/brake light--very bright

Renthal Jimmy Button Aluminum bars, Tusk bar risers (30mm lift), spyder grips, bar ends--no vibration, Double Take mirrors

Tusk hand guards--for wind protection and they help.

    Jimbo shield

Seat Concepts seat with perforated top and carbon fiber sides--huge improvement for me. Rode 200+ miles Sunday with no real discomfort. Would go with the gripper top next time--the perf top is slicker than the OEM.

Etrex legend HCx and Ram mount for handlebar--good deal on the gps at clearance/old model price.

Doubletake mirrors--they use a ram mount. They can fold down if not needed. Expensive though.

    Nice...
“One final paragraph of advice: do not burn yourselves out. Be as I am - a reluctant enthusiast....a part-time crusader, a half-hearted fanatic. Save the other half of yourselves and your lives for pleasure and adventure. It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it. While you can. While it’s still here. So get out there and hunt and fish and mess around with your friends, ramble out yonder and explore the forests, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet sweet and lucid air, sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, the lovely, mysterious, and awesome space. Enjoy yourselves, keep your brain in your head and your head firmly attached to the body, the body active and alive, and I promise you this much; I promise you this one sweet victory over our enemies, over those desk-bound men and women with their hearts in a safe deposit box, and their eyes hypnotized by desk calculators. I promise you this; You will outlive the bastards.”

I like. I will have to look into those. I'd like to see a front shot. I have really been wanting to put some lights on the front like yours.
