Hey guys. I just thought I would post this idea I came up with for mounting a clock on the TW. I am a stickler for the time, but I didn't like the clock offerings at the auto part stores. I had an idea to mount a watch on the TW that wouldn't interfere with anything. So, I was at a local hardware store and picked up a 3/4" conduit clamp. I used some gasket material for padding and some of that heavy duty double-sided mounting tape. Then, I headed to Wal-Mart in search of a cheap watch. I found a water resistant watch for $7 that had a decent sized display, but was small enough to be out of the way. I also picked up a lock washer for the carriage bolt the clamp came with so the TW wouldn't vibrate it loose. So, here's all what I needed for the watch install:

I bolted the clamp in the middle of the handlebars in-between the mounts. I know it's below the support bar, but the angle I sit at, it wasn't a problem:

And in this picture, I tried to capture exactly what I see while I am in riding position. As you can see, the support bar doesn't block my view of the display at all:

Well, that's it. I just thought I'd post this idea for anyone looking for a way to tell the time when commuting.

Nice and clean. What did you use to glue the watch to the clamp ?

Heavy duty double-sided tape. It's the red roll. It's the kind of stuff that can hold up to 10lbs. It's usually used to mount metal signs for like washrooms and whatnot.

Looks nice enough. Not to be a smart a-- but my motto when riding the TW echoes the classic Chicago song... "Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?"

Trust me, if I didn't use my bike for commuting to work, I wouldn't care. Unfortunately, I live in boring Chicago, and there is nowhere to ride a dual-sport for fun, so this bike is my commuter/grocery go-getter.
