Here are a few pictures of my reupholstered seat. The original with and without the Walmart/Stearns ATV cover had too much slope. I sought out a local shop familiar with motorcycle seats. He added enough foam to minimize the saddle slope and improve the comfort. He even added the red piping and used a red thread for the stitching. All for $70.

2008 TW200: 14T/47T, 122-link KMC O-Ring Chain, Jimbo C Shield, wide pegs, factory rear rack, Pro Taper ATV High bars, G2 handguards, MSR shift lever, QuadBoss saddlebags.

I do not own any stock and I do not owe anyone anything, except perhaps an open mind.

For me (5'10", 31"inseam, 205lbs) it works so much better than the stock seat and the stock seat with the Stearns pad. Riding downhill was very uncomfortable before because of too much sliding forward and the need to resist and reposition. Rode the bike about 400 miles at the Townsend, Tennessee TurtlePalooza weekend and never experienced any discomfort. I'm very pleased. It's a simple job for an experienced reupholstery shop.

I don't think upholstery guys get enough credit from the motorcycling world.

To a lot of them it's simple: Look at your butt, look at your gut , look at your seat, fix seat. Gimme 50 bucks. They see exactly what's needed for YOU and YOUR butt. Never been disappointed and have never wanted or needed to wait in line for a high-rent designer seat from one of the MC seat specialists, and don't plan to.

These guys (even the ones who specialize only in furniture upholstery) match more butts with more seats on a daily basis than almost anyone.

Here's mine, thickened, flattened, widened, blended into my XT tank and stitched (not stretched) to fit. The rear hoopty has a two-stage foam wedge in it so that it both flattens and widens as I slide back. Behaves like a "spoon" seat when I need it, narrow when I don't, like when I'm straddling the bike and walking it through boulder fields. Ingenius seat for 45 bucks.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Powdercoated '87 frame, extended swingarm, YZ fork legs, ATV tire, 14/55, XT350 tank, spliced quick-release seat, disc brake conversion, beeg headlight, beeger rack, Lizrdcooler, Lizrdventz and bunch of other stuff all covered in invisible ink.

That's an awesome seat. You have inspired me to seek out an upholsterer in my area that does motorcycle seats. Just e-mailed them for a quote.

    Dan

EDIT: I just got a quite from the above upholsterer for $95, which is a great deal for Chicagoland. They want me to come in to take measurements of me sitting on the bike and my height and whatnot, and will add/remove foam where needed. Then they said before the cover it, they will have me come down a second time to make sure the foam is correctly changed. Sounds like these guys really know what they are doing and take pride in their work. Sounds like the bike will have to stay with them though, but I have two, so no big deal.

Once I have it done and if I'm satisfied, I will post pictures and let you all know who did the work.
