    Hi TeeDub,

Like you, I have started collecting parts for a wide front wheel conversion. Unfortunately, the stock front and rear wheels have different spoke counts so your plan to lace your front hub and disc to a rear rim may not work. My plan is to mount a front drum brake assembly to the rear wheel. The front drum brake assembly is a little larger than the rear and this will simplify the front brake to fork interface (I think). Note: This is the approach pioneered by Poolsgold.

If you are able to work out a way to use the front disc with a rear wheel, I am sure that there are a few of us that would love to hear about it.

    Best of luck!

thanks brian. doh, for some reason i thought the spoke count was the same. does anyone know if i can get a blank in the same size? i did that for one of my huskies and had east bay wheels drill and lace them up. pricey but they turne out factory looking. back to the drawing board!

also, i noticed that ur in pleasanton. im in concord so if either of us figure it out, lets compare notes.

I haven't heard of anyone who has wheel blanks to fit the TW rear wheel, since it is kind of a unique animal. I wonder if a custom hub would be a reasonable option?

I am pretty sure that I've got a extra rear wheel if you need one. It is silver, but you could paint it black. My wide front wheel project has been on hold for some time now because I no longer have convenient access to a machinist and I have too many other things going on.

Let me know if I can help or if you'd like to get together and talk Tdubs or other bikes.

(By the way, your garage is way too clean)

hey brian. yeah i might be interested in the rear wheel. is it in good shape? no bends or burrs? how much you looking to get?

yeah, i did look into some custom hubs. alibaba has some hubs they offer and im trying to find out if they have any 32 hole with the disc mounts. any chance you or anyone knows what the details are for the front rotors? im sure the manufacturers are going to ask that question next.
