TW200 2001 - HT Top Rack Miss aligned mounting

Has anyone had a problem with the HT top rack leg being miss aligned with the turn signal mounting holes ?

I mounted the rack with only the front under seat bolts inserted just enough to hold.
The rear legs of the top rack miss the turn signal holes by the legs being about 1/2 inch forward.

Is there any difference in frames from 2001 to what they may have sent me ?

The only difference widely noted so far has been with the “Cyclerack”, where there is some difference in the off-set of the rear pegs on the pre and post 2000 frames

Called HT, they said that some 60 days ago they had gotten a new TW in and used that as template.

Waiting on HT to get back with me.

went ahead mounted the side racks.
Have to pull in the rear leg by about 1/2 inch, which is just too much for that tab that holds the turn signals.

Other thing is, with wolfman soft bags on the side, they are going to be too high, and the right one too close to the muffler.

They are looking to find a older TW at this time to see what difference is between the 2018 and older models.

I don't think i am going like either the top or side racks of HT.

Someone with HT racks on side of older TW on the right side can someone tell me the approximate elevation difference to the top of the muffler.
Meaning where is the position of that top bar on the side relative to the top of muffler.

Oh, and about how far that right saddle bag stands away from the muffler.

Adding an aftermarket heat shield over muffler is a common add-on to protect side bags.Chrome Heat Shield, Universal

Had chat with HT this morning.

They got an earlier model TW200 in there to see what was going on.

It appears that there is a difference with regard to the turn signals and muffler mount bolt hole (seems these two was what was actually reposistioned) and foot peg mounting holes with the 2018 TW and earlier models.
That is why the tail rack mounting holes did not line up. Seems they rebuilt all their jigs to the 2018, so that left earlier models sol.

Not only that, but also the way muffler is positioned and this why the side rack i received was too close the muffler.
That muffler bolt hole was re-positioned when the muffler was set back in the frame more. So earlier models will cause the side rack to be closer (too close) to the muffler and the back mount not to be be able to have firm footing where it bolts up to turn signal mount.

So now they are sending me what should fit, both side and top rack.

suppose to be here Wed, next week.

One thing i did not care for is the top rack they are sending does not have the upper bar, which I was wanting see about mounting a rotopax there.
Just have to wait and see.

One more thing that ticks me off, is he mentioned that they have had calls like mine and it seems they never did look into it, until now.
This new 'model' of rack has been out for about 60 day or a tad more. Like i mentioned up top, they rebuilt they jig.
He was a little confusing to me on that part.

My final thoughts on the HT for the TW200.

    I don't like it. Period.
Tool Tube can not be mounted along with the HT side racks.

Should have stuck with Cyclerack and bought the Giant Loop to go with that.
Would have been a bit more costly, but d* sure less of a headache.

At this point if someone was to ask me, i would say go with the Cyclerack and the Giant Loop and be done with it.

I had the same problem but I was able to bend enough to fit.

Decided to go on mount the HT rack.
Will make this one trip with it and then decide if i am going to keep it or not.

Almost had it fully installed, but then rain storms coming in. 100% chance.

The side straps on my wolfman side bags are tight. Had some little problem getting them hooked back into the lead.
Still unsure about where to mount/carry the rotopax.
