    Rear spring question

I am replacing my rear spring on the stock shock. upon removal the free length is about 7.5" looking at options like Hyperco they have 7" an 8" x 2.25 id I am thinking maybe it was an 8" but after 25 years maybe relaxed a bit?? I was just looking for alternatives to Procycle.

the Hyperco is available up to 1200# I am 250 with full gear I think I would want the higher rate.

anyone have a new replacement not installed they could measure?

    Thanks

Well, no one had any comments so I stuck out my neck and pocket book and ordered the 8" spring from Hyperco. it was $95 plus shipping. the Procycle heavy spring converts to LBS/in from19kg/mm to about #1064 So got the 1100 lb one. the only thing is if it is really a 7.5" stock spring I will have probably too much preload. time will tell.
