I have been working on my bike trying to make it more my style. On a budget though so doing the best i

can in a small out building. Don't really think building a big building here would be wise since iam not

exactly happy with the place. But anyway here's where iam at after a week of cleaning.

    Started out like this.

    Then tear down.

    And as of last night.

Still more to do but i just wanted to see how it looked with the new tank. I've put about six hundred in

new parts on it already and paid $800 for the tw. I don't know if i would have been better off selling it

and buying one newer from the start but i am in now so i'am going to make it mine.

Looks great! Wish I could say I bought mine for only $800 and I REALLY wish I could say I've only put $600 in new parts......

What are some of the parts you bought? Saw the tank, what else have you done, what are your plans?

It's a lot of little things really. The tank and petcock new handle bars, grips, intake joint's, bolts,

grommets, wire straps, header pipe (from ebay). It sat under a shed for years and was off the coast of

johns island sc so there was alot of rust. That first picture was after alot of cleaning and replacing

bolts and boots and stuff. My plans are to keep it LOL i tend to get things and fix them and sell

them but i really like this bike. I have been considering doing like Ronnydog and making it more

hwy friendly so i could do more ADV like riding. The way it is i can only get 63mph out of it and

it seems to me the clutch starts slipping then. Ive got a replacement clutch on my desk just haven't

got to it yet. Not pictured is the other side i have already replaced all of the bolts with stainless

bolts just waiting to do the clutch before i replace the right side.

Thanks Alex Monteer i like it too. The red may have been cool in the eighties but not really my style .

As far as the tank I have yet to put a drop in it to try but it's said to hold 2.7 gallons

as opposed to the stock tank which holds 1.8 gallons. I was not liking having to stop for fuel

so often. I will pull the bike out to day after some double checking and take a ride with the

new tank and see how it feels. I still need to Finnish putting it together in the pics it's not

    all done.

Removing these header bolts was the worst part.
