Any Advise on the HDB NexGen HandGuard Product

Just wanting to know if anyone on this board has any first hand experience with the HDB NextGen hand guards. I did a search on the forum but didn't find anything.

    Here is the link:
    https://www.highwaydirtbikes.com/ind...how&ref=HG-900

It looks like you might need to replace the stock 7/8 bars in order to tap the threads required, but I love the fact that you can easily turn in the mirrors when trail riding in the woods.

I'm on the hunt for hand guards and came across this brand.

    Thanks in Advance!

Per the link you posted you can select them in either 7/8" or 1 1/8". No need to swap bars. They look nice but $200 with the mirrors is CRAZY expensive.

Thanks Tom for the quick response!

I believe the rest of the forum must agree with you as they must be CRAZY expensive.

I decided after doing some more searching to go with the Tusk D-Flex Handguards Black (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
and the BikeMaster Folding Mirrors from Bike Bandit (https://www.bikebandit.com/aftermark...mirror/p/37694)

Having the same set up on one of my TWs makes me believe you will be quite pleased with the quality and performance of those selections. Takes a little fiddling to get the mirrors dialed in since they are so adjustable. I think they also tolerate getting smacked by branches and then returning to the proper position much better than the stock mirrors

I ran the HDB handguards on my TW for a while. They can be fit to the stock bars, but it's kind of an awkward fit. The stock bars have a little too much bend in them, so the guards are noticeably tilted down and I seem to remember the inner clamps would rub/interfere with the headlight cowling. They did fit and work, but the lower clamps are HUGE. They're incredibly beefy, and honestly to me really overkill. I moved them onto my Beta later on, and even on that bike the massive lower clamp and knuckle was problematic, interfering with the clutch hose and brake line running down the fork. I eventually removed them and sold them, replaced with a set of Enduro Engineering guards, which I currently run on both the Beta and the TW. They're like $80 instead of $200, and the fitment is much cleaner.

If going with the EE guards, get the ones with the "dipped" inner clamps- rather than straight off the bars, they have a bit of a "P" shape, which helps them not interfere with the brake line/clutch cables.

HDB Guards sure do have heavy duty clamps and parts. Overkill for a TW? Probably. But it's not for a bigger bike like my 701 or an Adventure bike. The best part is they come with free mirror glass for life and other parts.

I've found them to be the best hands down. Best as in they live through high speed crashes when the bike is flipping over whoops.

You need to order the correct parts for them to fit right. If you call them with your bar specs they will send you the correct parts. I have very tall bars, perfect fit.

The clamps matter if your trying to save a 280.00 Magura Clutch master cylinder etc. Just my lever is almost $100.00 so HDB makes sense for me.
