For some reason jetting threads make my head spin.

Stock was the old pumper style. I’ve only used JetsRUs a lot of people swear by Yamaha OEM there are lots of options. Whenever I’m contemplating jets I consult this thread first...

SomBadger posted the jet part numbers by year. I got mine at my local Yamaha dealer. I ordered over the phone and picked up for no shipping charges. For online many us Rocky Mountain ATV or Boats .net ( yes they have motorcycle parts).

    I have posted this before.

I have gotten jets from this place. The price is so cheap it is difficult to pass up and I have had success using them.

Buy an assortment larger and small than what you need. Get multiples of the same size and pass them out to your friends once you have your carb dialed in.

    Good luck.

I had a thought I should have included above -- if buying new jets from Yamaha make sure to get a new #114 jet. Jets wear out. You can't tell by looking at them but they do. Installing a new #114 jet solved running problems on 3 different TW's I have been involved with. And since yours is an '87 it is probably over due.

A NEW #114 HIGH SPEED JET NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE OLD ONE LOOKS!
