I was considering those p clips, but wondered if they would be tough enough to support a pipe. Ill have a look at some generic muffler options as well. Maybe ill have to get mounts welded on. By the way, the passenger mounts have been removed too!

There are different gauge clamps, also think about how some of the slip-on’s just come with an oversized p-clamp as a mounting method. But I do think welded mounts done well would look better, and more piece of mind knowing they are less likely to fail.

Look for a chrome or stainless hinged P clip. I think that would work and be strong enough.

I'll order some of the marine p clamps and give them a try first. Thanks all for your suggestions.

I stripped the horrible black paint off the front rim with paint stripper today. That and a bit of light steel wool and the rim came up amazing! I wont need to repaint or even polish! Why you would put crappy paint over a perfect rim I dont know!

Wow - nice work, looks great!

(p.s. I have some more rusty, crusty parts that you can turn into pieces of art )

    What lies beneath!

Ok, sanding back the hideous black tank for repairs and re paint.

A previous owner didnt bother to remove decals. Quick quiz: what year model are these stickers?

    Wow, your tank has decals?
That seems like a first since mine, like others, do not appear to be an appliqué, sticker, or decal but rather integral with the tank's factory paint.
Kuryakyn sells some metric hinged P-clamps that may match the TW's metric frame tubes which may be a better match than an imperial size.
