Just curious if there are any upgrade options for the clutch. I switched out the oil after break in with castrol 4t non synth and it is a lot better than the Yamalube. Now engagement is smoother but it is certainly not smooth and is a weak link in my opinion. I bet synth helps some but I wondered if it can be better? Is there any real adjustment that can perhaps help?

Make sure your cable is lubed. Mine will get grabby and then I know its time for a lube job.
If you can't find it, grind it

Also a loose drive chain can make it shift poorly?.

there is a pinned thread about the clutch spring that many members have had issues with. This causes it to slip. Not sure if this is your issue but might be worth checking

The clutch and notchy transmission are probably my biggest complaint about the TW. I'm going to order a new clutch cable eventually and see if that helps.

Switching to a 10-40w synthetic does make it better. I wouldn't say it is smooth, just better.
