    Parts List

2 LED strips from Ebay $15 delivered

    22" clear tubing

    1 metal strip 22"x0.4"x 0.1"

    2 Zip ties

    Wire Connectors

    Time required 20 minutes

    Difficulty: Novice / Beginner

I have some new front lights coming from a forum member to replace the one that's damaged. While waiting, I thought I'd try some LED's on there. I like them and will probably mount a second set on the mirrors as turn signals. No need for a flasher relay as long as the rear stays filament based.

Cut metal strip to desired length. Take care to note whether your state has specific requirements for signal separation.

Remove protective tape from back of LED strips and attach LEDs to ends of metal strip.

Cut tubing into two equal pieces and slide over the ends of the metal strip allowing leads to exit tube from center point on metal strip.

ZipTie the tube-enclosed strip to the desired mounting point.

Splice leads into existing turn signal wiring for marker lights.

Repeat process for signal lights if desired.

The tubing acts as a diffuser and doubles as a protective coating for the LEDs.

Another fine redneck fix from LiquidSilver

Thats pretty slick. Nice work! Maybe some rubber stoppers as watertight endcaps?
Persistence is the better part of genius.

I thought about using rubber stoppers or possibly some Silicone sealant .

I have the same light strips on another bike around the license plate. They seem to do just fine even with a little water on them. We'll see how long they last.

Update... Turn signals added to mirrors after old lights removed.
