two issues-- not getting power to the starter periodically and ...

when I removed the air filter cover oil flowed out (maybe about a shot-glass full).

Electrical issue--when in Neutral I'll turn on the key and get nothing--no headlights, dash lights, etc. Turn it off, turn it back on and it might work or it might not. I checked the connections at the battery and they are tight. I added a accessory plug to charge my phone about a month ago but don't see how that would effect it.

Any help on these things would be appreciated.

The oil from the air box could be from over filling the crankcase with oil or the air filter was over oiled the last time it was serviced. The electrical sounds like the switch may be going bad.

listen to see if you hear a relay clicking when you turn the key on, also make sure the fuse connection is clean. Could be in the ign switch. Could always get a multimeter and trace the power to the point where it stops
