I know that there are commercial lubes out there and other products that work (silicone spray, glass cleaner, etc.) but what do you use? What do you keep on your bike in case you have to change/patch a tube in the field?
http://www.jpcycles.com/product/216-049 This will at least get you home. I actually keep a set of spoons on the bike in case of a real disaster. But when you have access to a tire machine one of these little pumps is nice to just get back to town with.
I use dish liquid and water mixed to change tires. On the bike I carry a sample shampoo bottle full of dish liquid to mix in a partial bottle of deinking water if needed. I just about always carry more water than I need rather than carry pre-mixed lube.
Good tip Qwerty. Thats what I was looking for. Thank you very much.
