    Kick start seal

I am trying to remove the old one and do not want to get too agressive and makes things worse. Any ideas or tips would be appreciated. I will post pics.image.jpgimage.jpg

You won't hurt it. Looks like you have the right tools. Just get in there and dig it out or if you can get to it from the back, take a punch and tap where ever you can connect. Clean up the area, put a thin smear of grease around the new seal and tap it in.

I think that I used an appropriately sized socket (as in socket wrench type socket) to tap it out from the inside of the case.
    Joemama and Adam-n-nevada like this.

If my memory serves me correctly, there is aluminum behind the seal. I think there is room to get a flat blade screwdriver between the seal and metal. It shouldn't be to too hard to remove.

I often use a sharp punch to poke a hole in the case of the seal, then run a screw in and yank it out. I suppose a small self tapping screw would work also. You just have to be careful it doesn't slip and gouge the side case.
