Is it a California model with the emissions canister? Or could it be the vent tube from the battery?

Great. Thanks. I thought it was supposed to connect to the bottom of the carb since there is a nipple with no hose connected to it. Is that nipple just for the gas drain?

As stated - follow the tubing upwards to it's origin - if it's coming from the battery, then leave the end below the swinging arm.

Battery drain pipe - end of story

If it's not connected to the battery - then let us know and we'll (collectively) figure it out

May not be connected anywhere if the original owner replaced the battery with a sealed unit. Just an afterthought.
