1987 TW200 Brand New CDI (dont ask) brand new air filter, brand new air filter boot and brand new intake boot.
Bike runs fine with choke halfway out. You could ride it all day but put the choke in and all you can do is idle.
Carb appears to be clean as I have had it off and cleaned it out about 5 times now.
Any hints tips suggestions. I have uploaded a video to youtube to better illustrate the issue,
Thanks in advanced!
I wouldn't try to clean it, it's probably corroded and eaten up somewhat since it's an 87. Buy a new pilot jet kit.

1st John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Turned out to be a faulty air filter? I took the air filter off of my 2014 and put it on the 87 and it ran perfect.
The pilot jet adjusts the air/fuel mixture — but if the air filter has had it, the results will be the same. Could have been either, even a cracked intake boot will do it, hard to notice sometimes. Fortunately, you had another bike to swap parts from.
Well done for finding it — and for letting us know the end result — far too many threads end with suggestions — not solutions — and it’s the solutions we learn from ……………
The idle mixture screw is open 2 1/2 turns......
Long live the internal combustion engine!
