    Pilot screw cap on 98 how thick is cap?

    I want to drill out screw the cap. just like an idea how far to go down with bit. thanks

    This is just a guess, but I would say less than 1/16".

    Don't try to drill the plug out. Just enlarge the hole enough to get a sharp pointed (i.e. drywall) screw started, then use the screw to gently wiggle and pull the plug out.

    It is just a brass plug.

    The bit goes through it pretty good and quick. I just did mine with a cordless, on slow, and no stop. Light pressure. As soon as through, stop going in.

    Insert drywall screw and wiggle/pull out.

    Done.
