2009 tw200 clutch shudder at partial engagement

Just bought this TW200. 340lb. rider. Upsized the rear sprocket to 55. Warm engine, Feathering the clutch while trail riding causes a loud chatter with shudder and slipping under partial engagement while moving ahead from a stop or low speed. Thought it might be wrong oil used by previous owner. Drained oil looked clean, not burnt. Refilled with silkolene pro 4 10w40. Havent had a chance to try it. Return spring OK and adjusted. Basically shudders at engagement.

Nope, not the oil. Clutch springs and/or clutch plates need replacing.

Just seemed odd. No sign or sound of chatter prior to todays slow tight woods shakedown ride. I was only into it maybe 1/2 hr when engagement noise began. Only 3100 miles on odom. no noise after cool down as far as I can tell. Might just have to face the music and do a clutch. Is there a clutch suited better to heavier loads than the OEM Yamaha??

Hmmm, maybe the spring bolts got loose. Yes, there are stronger springs available, lots of threads about that in here. Have a look at page C3 in the parts catalog: http://www.yamaha-motor.com.mx/manua.../5fyg_2003.pdf
