If it has a kickstart then no problem.
I don't have this bike but I'm trying to learn about the bike.
With no battery can the bike both start and then run without a any battery at all. This may seem to be obvious but many bikes will not, to my knowledge.
rode 100 miles like that last weekend.
2008 TW200 with a super cool exhaust
Yes, I've ridden my '93 like that back when I was having battery issues. Of course the '93 has a kickstarter (can't imagine life w/o one!). Unless other years are different, my experience is you will have no lighting however when running w/o a battery. Were that not the case, I'd be quite happy to always kickstart mine and forget about a battery altogether. Anyone know how to rig the TW so you can have lighting while the bike is running and not need a battery, let me know!
The lights on my 91 work without a battery when running.
