I am a proud owner of a new 2010 TW200. Bought the bike about 3 weeks ago in Florida and got it shipped to Turks & Caicos. Have a Isuzu Rodeo and a Dodge Durango but with almost $7 a gallon for gas, I needed something more economical for running errands .

Of course there is no Yamaha dealer here. I would like to bundle an order of necessary parts the I may need in the near future. Shipping and handling is a killer. It cost me $155 for a new battery (please don't ask why I needed a new battery for a new bike. I paid for my stupidity!!)

Now, here is my question. What parts should I have on hand for the next 6 to 9 months or so? Put about 500 miles on it so far and I did the initial oil change (cleaned filter but did not replace it).

Barring some odd catastrophic failure I don't think you're going to need much beyond oil changes and valve adjustments in that timeframe.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Powdercoated '87 frame, extended swingarm, YZ fork legs, ATV tire, 14/55, XT350 tank, spliced quick-release seat, disc brake conversion, beeg headlight, beeger rack, Lizrdcooler, Lizrdventz and bunch of other stuff all covered in invisible ink.

Chain and sprockets will go pretty quickly. Might want to order those.

    Chain lube.

    Oil filters.

Motorcycle specific oil that meets JASO MA or MA2 certifications.

Spare tubes in case of flats.

Light bulbs (LEDs for speedo, indictors, turn and tail will far outlast the stockers).

Brush guards to protect levers in a drop.

    Fuel filters.

Marine grease for swingarm pivot and steering stem.

    Seafoam Deep Creep for cables.

Dielectric grease for sealing electrical plugs and sockets against corrosion.

130 main jet, since you are at sea level with warm temps and high humidity.
