The plug flange on my bike doesn't sit flush with the case, allowing a vise grips or channel locks to grip that outside flange. Might ding up the plug but not as bad as using a flat head screwdriver.
I figure there is no secret trick available here, its probably just that I need to get better leverage to get this open.
I am attempting the valve adjustment on my friends Tw200.
The center plug in the crank came out with little force. The plug above that, that shows the TDC marks will not budge.. I have started to strip the groove in the plug. I may have to make a piece of metal to go into the plg with a wider surface.
Any other ideas? If I put the bike back together and start it up to warm first, would it potentially be easier to get the plug out? I realize I would have to wait to finish the Valve adjustment, but its at least a thought.
Any ideas are appreciated.
Try a big enough screwdriver to fit the slot in the plug.
Got it, wrench on the outside also a penny may very well work if this happens to someone else.
Thanks guys for the obvious help, as I figured.
