    Welcome to the forum STOPTATB!

Make sure that your bike is in neutral when you are trying to start it. There is an interlock switch that prevents you from starting your bike if it is in gear and the clutch is not pulled in (i.e., disengaged).

Does your clutch work normally once the engine is started (i.e., it does not slip or drag)?

If so, then it may be a problem with the neutral switch.

"Will not start" -Does this mean the starter motor is not turning the engine over, or does it mean engine refuses to run?

    Kick stand should be up.

I still get fooled by all of the above, even though I have a “mental” checklist. Cheers

Welcome to the stupid club. I'm a multi-award winner myself. Please don't add to what I just said Mrs. Admiral. Thank you.

I just helped a friend remove his kick stand and clutch lever switches so now his TW will start and run regardless of kickstand/gear/clutch lever position. Of course, this is extremely dangerous but I ride a TW....clearly I live on the edge....
