    It would be nice to have a trip meter on my 94.Has anyone used a newer model speedometer with trip meter on a older bike?.

    No reason I can think of why it wouldn't work. The cable may need to be changed, but I doubt it (part number is a little different for the 94 vs the 01 but I think that it is only the first letters that they change every model year) the newer odometer works the same as yours with the addition of the trip odo gears etc inside.



    I stand ready to be corrected on this one though.

    Yep, the newer type speedo is a perfect fit on a older bike, Was for my '97 anyway.

    I used one from a xt225, same speedo as the newer TW.
    Only a fool would attempt it, and God help me, I am that fool!

    Fits perfect, I swapped my 93's for a newer one (circa 2000s).
