Does a 2005 black fork boot fit a 1996 fork with the blue boots? Is that info found here somewhere on this site. I have'nt had much time to explore it yet and want to get some parts ordered today. Thanks for any help you can provide me.

all the fork boots should fit. the forks are the same across the line, except for the difference in parts for drum vs disc brakes.

i put new black ones on mine to replace the '94 yellow.

    Boots

I have found that stock fork boots are WAY overpriced, however, they do fit great.

You might want to consider an aftermarket boot. I bought the Daystars and the fit is ok...I kind of modified them to make them fit perfectly.

But to answer your question, yes, 2005 will fit a 1996. When I bought stock replacement boots before I bought my Daystars, they were from a 2005 and they fit my 1990.
If you can't find it, grind it

Thanks for the quick help. Pricy is being nice, but I'll go with the OEMs i think. You can't get them anymore for my 89 TransAlp. Going to loose the Blue frame, seat and boots. Going to try something in a camompattern i think
