    Hi Guys,

Lubricating using a new gun broke one of the grease nipples - is M6 our replacement size? (and does the stub come out easily with a socket-wrench)

I see a few options here for the grease nipple -

Also, what's our spark plug wrench size?

    Thanks -

    RTF.

Not by my manual nor the bike, but, the grease nipple should unscrew (there should be a nut at the base of the nipple). Should be able to order one online or down at the local MC shop?.....but, I know,It'll be 2x the price of one from a hardware store.this doesn't really answer your question. You could also take the other one out for comparison and take it to a hardware store etc.

HI Frog - I truly truly wish a mc h/w store was around here in Boston ... No suck luck! I tried unscrewing it with a socket but given the tight space it didn't work out ...probably going to get a small t driver and give it another shot. Any issues if I leave it just like that ? Any alternatives to lube the suspension any other way?

If you can get an open end 8mm wrench on it, it'll come out pretty easy. Any auto parts store should have one in stock. Spark plug socket is 18mm.
Only a fool would attempt it, and God help me, I am that fool!

If your having spacial issues.....remove the rear wheel....also what r80rt said.Maybe lightly spray some PB blaster around the nut first....let it sit for alittle while...20 minutes or so,then retry?.

A square style E-Z out works well. If it's had any grease at all, it shouldn't be frozen in due to the grease. OM

    Hi Guys -

In another episode of Me-Against-Me - I managed to strip the screw - Now part of the screw is stuck inside the threaded base. So couple of questions -

    1. Are there Any small tools which would let me take it out?

    2. If I let it be the way it is, any issues? can put a couple of drops of oil on top of it every month - would that lube the suspension to some degree?

ON a positive note, I can confirm now that it's an 8mm screw that the grease nipple is based on
