Just wondering if anyone knows what year they upgraded the speedo to have the tripometer in it and if a new model with the trip will bolt right on to an older TW ?

2000 year model and up, yes it's a direct bolt on.
Only a fool would attempt it, and God help me, I am that fool!

t was a very easy swap, took me about 40 min, mostly just checking out all the wiring behind the headlight.

Thanks Joe, I am just thinking the trip meter will be helpful to keep me from running out of gas. I filled the tank the day I got it and drove it 80 miles and hit the reserve. Not sure how far I can go on a full tank plus the reserve but better to be safe than walking out of the deep woods. If I find one and set the trip to zero I know I should start looking to fuel up at around 80 miles. Just makes things easier for me.

I may be interested in a newer speedo with a trip meter for my 91 TW if anyone gets wind of one!
