Anyone use a tach, besides the Vapor, I mean a separate tach that will work on the TW.

I have one very similar to this

    http://enmco.thomasn...t16-tachometer?

The actual one I bought may not be made any longer. I mounted it to the cross bar. It reads the rpm about once every .5 seconds. I bought it on sale but you probably can find similar ones on ebay for less money. For the low cost and ease of installation I rate it pretty high. I didn't think I would like or use the hour function but I do like it. BTW, they are $30 each but if you buy 10 of them they are only $18 each. Do you have 9 friends that might be interested in one or more?

This is the one I have. 99 hours in the saddle when I took this picture. My next picture will be at 168 hours. That will be equal to one week solid -- 24/7 -- of the engine running and me riding.

    I hope this helps. Tony

Someone on the old forum had installed (IIRC) a Koso from Dennis Kirk, probably this one:

I use one of these velcroed to the top of the brake fluid reservoir. The lead wire wraps around the spark plug wire.

There appears to be a delay between the engine rpms and the tach display.

If you decide on one of these, make sure you buy one that is a tach. They make one that looks identical but is only an hour meter.

Doing a search I found this vendor. You may find a better price.

I bought mine at the local Yamaha dealer.

What powers those digital ones that read from the plug wire? The one's I looked at on ebay only had one wire.

I have the TTO tach. Doesn't take up much room,is reasonably priced, easy to install and works well. The tach doubles as an hour meter. They also make a nice compact temp gauge.
I just noticed this thread is 4 years old. Hopefully the OP got his tach by now.

I really like the mounting you did for the TTO gauges! What did you use to secure them?
