Last winter I fit some tire chains for my TW rear tire. Worked great. Even though I have the Shinko 244 front and is better than the stocker, front wasn't able to keep up with the rear traction wise. This year I'm gonna put chains on the front too. My plan for both front and rear is to take apart the chain sets and adapt them to a strap on tire chain. Will be easier to mount.

    Strap on example.

Though the ski on the front tire is intriguing, I'm still not getting myself into the real deep stuff, so no plan to try the ski.

    You'll like the chains though!

Sorry, I should have pointed it out that this is a different bike picture, not mine, but it's what I'm gonna convert too for this winter. You do bring up a good point with the possibility of them not staying in place. I'll have to figure that out, but glad you brought it up. I do plan on sharing my chain mod, so stay tuned.

Getting the bike ready for winter in Lower Alabama (LA) means looking in the back of the closet for a sweater.
