image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgAfter work last night Adan-in-Nevada and I repeated the Norcal Singletrack ride plus a few miles of other challenging trails. We share the philosophy that challenging ourselves builds riding skills so usually attempt to push ourselves a bit, plus it is fun. 12 miles in we stopped for awesome sunset at turn-around spot NorCal group will recognize. A few shared tall tales later the moon was up and it was an absolutely gorgeous summer night with heat lightning flashes in the distance.
Defying common sense to head home we elected to ride just one more trail...and maybe just one more...and since we are out why not ride that super single track over that ridge. And since the evening was so nice in a bit the moon will be high enough to filter through the trees making the granite boulders of the 304 trail stand out . Besides the headlights cast such interesting shadows through the whoop-de-coos...I used every excuse I could think of to prolong the riding experience. Unique and memorable experiences, who would think a couple of crazies could have so much fun with just 12 horsepower?
Needless to say we were tired puppies when we got back just before 11 pm.

With the recent rains we had mud in places and I came around a third gear corner a little laid over only to hit a 30 ft long puddle. I lost it and slid last half in the puddle thoroughly dipping myself in the chocolate milk. Loving wife doesn't know whether to wash or burn muddy riding outfit this morning.

Wow. Did a quick look and those look like great pictures. I've always wanted to do a evening or night ride...on purpose! When I get back from a trail recon tomorrow, I'm gonna have to enlarge them so I can see them better.
Hidden Content A ride in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact I'm dragging a body should be entirely irrelevant?
