Ooops, Still More Pics From Last Ride

Here are a few more snap shots showing variety of scenery encountered from last few days of riding near HWY 4 .

Looking towards Freel Peak and Woodford's Station. Lake Tahoe lies in basin beyond Freel Peek

Foot of Ebbetts Pass has this great sign, not as steep as Sonora Pass's 28% grades though.

Shot from Poor Boy Road overlooking meadows hosting Grover Hot Spring Resort outside of Markleeville

Nice stately white pine grove just before extremely elaborate private gate several miles up Poor Boy Road. I think somebody not very poor has an non-reportable income gold mine up there somewhere.

    More:
Indian Creek Reservoir where treated toilet water from Lake Tahoe Basin is given back to the Piutes. Who says we never give the Indians anything?

Embarrassed to say I don't recall just where this sub-alpine meadow was or why I stopped to photo it

Wolf Creek was way to fast flowing with frigid snow melt to attempt to cross

Cascade Creek across the road from the FishHead Rock graffiti

East Fork of the Carson River near edge of fire impacted area with burnt driftwood

Looking towards Carson-Iceburg Wilderness on the Pacific side @ turn for Highland Lakes which was blocked by late season snow

Alpine Lake near headwaters of the Stanislaus River

Mokulumne River canyon as seen from Bear Valley's Mt Reba Ski Resort parking lot. That is one steep mother of a canyon, another roadless wilderness

Idyllic meadow with snow pond and wildflowers at Bear Valley where I was able to top off tank and re-fill RotoPak for the next day's ride

Unabashed pure Betty Boop porn. Two more equally beautiful lakes lay beyond along a primitive trail that crossed this lakes spillway with too deep of water for me to cross that day.

My campsite seemed to come with printed instructions. "TRAIL" Thanks, I think I can take it from here.

This is the creek crossing I chickened out on up Silver Creek. Google Earth shows "road" climbing another thousand feet or so

Bear poop up LP road that I had hoped would take me to the Carson Hot Springs Adam and I failed to locate a few weeks ago. Bear seems to have a nice organic diet, no human tid-bits.

Sulfur mine on LP Road. Burnt forest extended many miles through several major drainages; a fast moving fire that didn't incinerate everything.

Road builders were able to just squeeze roadway in along Wolf Creek

Nicely done, Fred. It's a great time of year to get out and about on the ol' Tdubs. Great pictures!

Fred, with your background, can you tell what was mined just by looking at the tailings.

Hidden Content A ride in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact I'm dragging a body should be entirely irrelevant?
