I was itching to go riding, so I loaded up the bike and headed to the Naneum Ridge area just outside of Ellensburg, WA. Naneum Ridge divides Chelan County to the north, and the Kittitas Valley to the south.

I hit snow at about 5,500 feet.

    And I got stuck.

I ended up seeing around 50 elk and four deer

To try and get out of the snow, I headed west. I ran into a few obstacles.

Total ride was about 55 miles.

I dodged most of the holiday campers by getting up there early. They started to pour in on my way back to the truck.

Nice pictures. I have not even started my bike this year. It has been rain, rain and more rain. I suspect all my regular haunts still look like this, and for some reason those conditions have lost some alllure. Gerry

    Take care my Friend.........

Thanks for sharing Rainman. Although there are tons of great riding spots at lower elevations, gonna have to wait a lot longer this year to get into the high country.

Those Elk must be gett'in use to you riding up there on the ridge, they seem to pose just right for you! ha ha.

Got my TW back up and running just prior to the long weekend. Was gonna take it with on the weekend travels, had it loaded, then unloaded it. Didn't think I'd get much riding time in, mainly due to the weather. And it was a good call on our part. Rain, rain, snow, fake you out sun, then more rain. And like mrgizmo said, riding in those conditions some of the allure of being outdoors is lost.

Thanks for sharing. I'm gonna ride to the mailbox today...but it looks like more rain.
Hidden Content A ride in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact I'm dragging a body should be entirely irrelevant?
